Fort Bend Epicenter Expansion Could Bring a First-Class Hotel and Convention Center to Rosenberg

Big developments are on the horizon for Fort Bend County!

After just three years in operation, the Fort Bend Epicenter could soon undergo a major expansion — introducing a full-service, first-class hotel and 70,000-square-foot convention center to Rosenberg, Texas.

At the Sept. 23 City Council meeting, officials unveiled a $236 million proposal that would strengthen the city’s role as a regional hub for business, entertainment, and tourism.

“We’re excited about this project not only for the citizens of Fort Bend County, but for the growth and citizens of Rosenberg,” said Vincent Morales, Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Commissioner and former Rosenberg Mayor.

Project Highlights

The proposal, presented by city and county leaders, includes:

  • 🏨 218-room luxury hotel
  • 🏛️ 70,000-square-foot convention center
  • 🚗 Two parking garages totaling 2,600 spaces

According to Steve Robinson, an urban development attorney with Allen Boone Humphries Robinson LLP, the project would be funded by $161 million from Fort Bend County and $75 million from a private developer.

Rosenberg would not bear any up-front costs. However, to help repay construction expenses, the county has requested that hotel occupancy taxes be redirected to Fort Bend County, while Rosenberg retains all property and sales tax revenues from the Epicenter.

What’s Next

A public hearing will be scheduled for community feedback before moving forward with construction plans. Mayor William Benton confirmed the city will announce that date soon.

The Epicenter, located at 28505 Southwest Freeway, has already surpassed performance benchmarks projected for year six — reaching those milestones in just three years, proving its success and impact on the community.

Why It Matters

This expansion could attract more business travel, events, and tourism, fueling Rosenberg’s economic growth and driving property value appreciation across the area.

For homeowners and investors alike, this could mark the start of a major transformation for Fort Bend County’s west corridor — one that boosts local demand, increases visibility, and further strengthens Rosenberg’s position as one of Texas’ fastest-growing cities.

💡 Bottom Line: Rosenberg Is on the Rise

With a $236 million expansion on the table, Rosenberg is quickly becoming a major player in Fort Bend County’s growth story.

If you’ve been thinking about buying, selling, or investing in the area — now is the time to get ahead of the curve.
